According to the article, the circular house -- ultramodern when it was built in 1970 -- is ringed with small square windows and directional lights and perched on six "landing gear" legs. It has multiple levels, three bedrooms, two baths and an entrance staircase that retracts with the push of a button.
The current owner has it listed on eBay, and bids are already up to $100,000. I'd love to bid and own the flying saucer house that I remember loving to drive by when we were little.
You did know we lived in Chattanooga, didn't you? Yes, the space house is a very famous landmark in the Chatt-town. Yes, bid on it! It would be great to live near you! :)
ReplyDeleteThere used to be a "cupcake" house near one of our homes when I was little. We used to chant, "We wanna see the cup cake house..." over and over and over. Sadly, it has since been destroyed in a fire, but the house is a great memory!
