The Time Traveler's Wife

We interrupt these vacation updates with a book review.

I just finished reading The Time Traveler's Wife. I hated it. Every. Single. Page.

I really wanted to read it and thought I'd better do so before the movie came out in a few weeks. It took me several chapters to even get interested, and by then I felt I was too invested to just quit. I didn't like the story or Henry or the whole idea. The only person I really liked was Clare.

And to add insult to injury, I had to pay a late fine to the library because it was due while we were on vacation.

Have you read it? What did you think?

I read it a few years back. I thought it was an interesting concept, but didn't like the characters very much. Some of the language bothered me. It wasn't one of my favorites. Several of my friends have read it, and it has received mixed reviews as well.

You aren't alone in your assessment!

I was just about to acquire that one and now I'm thinking maybe not!

I didn't hate it but it's not my favorite. I'm not really into books or movies or anything else really that is that fantastical -- I like story lines that can actually happen! But, I am interested in how they'll do the movie version -- but I won't be forking out major bucks to see it, I'll wait for the rental.

I always hate reading a book that's disappointing -- hard to pick up another book after that for fear it too will be awful.

Tried it, didn't finish it. Thanks for stopping by to read our adoption blog and for commenting...I have another one too if you're interested...www.claytonsmommy.blogspot.com. And yes, we were at HU at the same time and we have lots of common friends!

It seriously took me about 100 pages to get interested and I couldn't quit because it was for a book club at my friend's house. I liked it when I got interested and I want to see the movie because I heart Rachel McAdams.

I can see why you hated it! :)
